Biography Rachel’s musical and personal background are eclectic. She currently resides in Harlem, NYC, but grew up and has lived, worked and performed in Europe, the Middle-East and the Americas. She studied opera for eight years and now sings jazz, pop and gospel, as well as classical music. In addition to the songs Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Billie Holliday made famous, you’ll also hear some Edith Piaf, Neapolitan songs, and even some Mozart, Bach or Verdi.
Rachel has been singing and performing in the car, the family living room, at friends’ gatherings, etc. since about 4 years old. Since then, she has enjoyed listening to all types of music, studying and singing classical, jazz and pop, and organizing and performing in numerous shows, benefit concerts, weddings and other events. She’s lived a global nomad’s life, so sometimes mixes up her metaphors, but loves to travel, explore and learn about new (and ancient) cultures. Rachel also loves Ethiopian food (eat with your hands!), latin banghra and R&B dancing, going to the theater and music shows, her family and many wonderful friends in Italy, Chicago, New York, Guatemala, Jordan, etc, and year-round walks and hikes.
